Adult Literacy (Reading & Writing)
This service aims to enable adults to feel confident about their own ability in the following areas:
- reading and writing
- communication skills
- applying numbers and tackling maths problems in everyday life
- using information technology - computers, e mail etc
- creative thinking and problem-solving
- Study skills
The service aims to provide a friendly and respectful atmosphere that is open to people from all walks of life. Classes take place mornings, afternoons and evenings. On arrival to the service the student will meet with the organiser. At this point, the student identifies his or her needs and chooses from the range of classes available. Students may decide to work on a one to one basis or in a small group. Students are supported to work toward FETAC or Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate if they choose to do so. Classes are free and all our tutors are trained.
