Skills for Work Programme
Many employers are unaware that there is an initiative to train people already in employment in basic computer and communication training to Level 3 within the QQI framework. These skills are suitable for individuals working in most sectors and in today’s work environment these skills sets are imperative for nearly all employees.
Numerous employers within the Fingal area have availed of the opportunity to put their employees on one of these courses. The candidates have gained confidence and skills and consequently taken on more responsibility and furthered their own careers.
Fingal Adult Education has worked with Arvato, Wavin, Fingal Home Care, An Post, Fingal Home Care and many other care homes in the area to mention but a few key partners.
Skills for Work is a national programme aimed at providing training opportunities to help employees deal with the basic skills demands of the workplace. The initiative is funded by the Irish Government under the Department of Education and Skills, and delivered by the 16 Education and Training Boards across the country. The project is managed nationally by Dublin and Dun Laoghaire ETB.
